Since we have a fully dynamic wiki service at our disposal, how about we do the following:
1. Set it up so people can create their own wiki page for each new idea.
2. Have a home page with links to all the wikis.
3. Open it up to voting via a separate page where people can simply add a tick to, or somehow identify their support of, ideas they favour.
4. We will then essentially have a scoreboard for ideas.
Best part is that people can add to existing ideas by editing any given wiki page. So long as we have a protocol for changing the pages (so the original ideas don’t get overwritten or unfairly altered) this could be a great soil in which to have ideas grow!
Check out this feature, which apparently is a WordPress add-on:
How ’bouts a digg-style site where new ideas are essentially voted on. We could, say, skim the top 5 every week, then look more closely at these, resubmit to an “advanced” section of the site, where these more elaborate ideas compete head-to-head, and end up with the very best… say 3 per month. If we come up with 5 well-developed ideas per quarter we’ll have more than enough on our hands!
Here are some digg API/plug-in resources:
